The driving force behind Birch Design Associates individualized experience is owner and nationally published designer, Tiffany Birch. Like many who curate a unique set of skills over time, Birch knew from a young age that her passion was in the field of residential and commercial interiors.

Birch’s desire to create spaces unique to her client’s needs, in an edited and refined manner has shaped the designer’s work since opening her flagship store, Persnickety, in 2005. Since relocating her studio to Ann Arbor over a decade later, her portfolio has grown through her participation in several Designer Show Houses, in addition to winning multiple Detroit Design Awards. Birch’s stylish work has most recently been featured in Detroit Design Magazine, The BRICK, Michigan BLUE, and Hour Magazine.

She attended Michigan State University, receiving her BA in psychology, while simultaneously studying interior design. The psychology behind a purposeful design shapes Birch’s approach to each project, acknowledging the key components for a successful design are not only inherently beautiful, but functional. She begins each collaboration with the question “how does this family, individual, or workforce thrive?” Skillfully, Birch answers through visual and tactile cues layered throughout the environment, ultimately reflecting the best version of her client’s distinct style.
